The parlor of this luxury remodeled Miner's House 2 bedroom Park City vacation rental by owner.

The David O. McLaughlin House - Circa 1880's
The Miner's House on Park City's Main Street was probably built by John M. Harris in the 1880's.

This typical hall-parlor is two rooms wide and one room deep with an extension to the rear. Replacing the single room log cabins of the 1870's, this was the first major house type that appeared in great numbers in Park City. With origins in England, this type of small house was widely accepted in the United States and especially in Park City with the town's abundance of English, Irish and Scottish immigrants.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Miner's House has been completely restored to it's original state by Douglas and Ellie Stephens.

The common rooms are richly appointed with fine furnishings and antiques replicate the by gone era of the silver mining.

Setting for a Victorian play, our kitchen comes with European appliances, a noble farm sink, orginal hand finished wood floor and the spirit of past memorable feasts.

Silver King Coalition Mine Park City Utah - On 23 December 1869 the Young American lode became the first recorded claim of the district. However, it was the discovery of the rich Ontario mine that initiated efforts to mine lode ores and acted as the catalyst for Park City's rapid growth and reputation as a great silver mining camp. In 1872, shortly after its discovery, the mine was sold for $27,000 to George Hearst of San Francisco, and was run by R.C. Chambers until 1901.
